3D Printer Technician (Bambu Lab Focus)

Overview
We operate a small-scale 3D printing lab running multiple Bambu Lab P1S printers and are looking for a reliable technician to keep everything running smoothly. This is a hands-on role focused on maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Ideal for someone who enjoys working with printers, diagnosing issues, and keeping machines in peak condition.
What You'll Do
- Perform weekly maintenance (cleaning, calibration, inspection)
- Execute monthly deep cleans across all printers
- Troubleshoot print failures (layer shifts, clogs, AMS issues, etc.)
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues (hotends, extruders, fans, sensors)
- Optimize printer settings for quality and speed
- Maintain filament systems (AMS tuning, feeding issues, swaps)
- Replace worn parts proactively before failure
- Keep a simple log of work performed and issues found
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with Bambu Lab printers (P1S preferred)
- Strong understanding of filament types (PLA, PETG, ABS)
- Slicing basics (Bambu Studio / Orca)
- Knowledge of common failure modes and fixes
- Comfortable disassembling and reassembling components
- Detail-oriented and reliable
- Able to work independently without supervision
Bonus
- Experience with print farms or multiple printers
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems
- Basic electronics or mechanical repair skills
Schedule & Pay
- Flexible: ~2–4 hours per week + monthly deep clean day
- On-demand for urgent fixes
- Hourly rate: $25–$50/hour (based on experience)
